Taurain System Defense Forces (TSDF) Long-range sensors detect the inbound targets, estimated sizes near 250 Kilotons (KT) each, and a force from the outer patrol pickets are dispatched toward the intercrept point. Inner system forces are put on alert.

The TSDF detect two minor blips speeding from the main ships towards the inner-system, and shortly their after, the main ships alter course to intercept the picket force short of the intercept point.

TSDF outer picket forces dsignated TF1 (2 med FF, 3 hvyDD).
TF1 closing with inbounds designated H2.
Inner system forces designated TF2 dispatched to intercept inbounds designated H1.
Active sensors.
Energy shields coming up.

The minor inbound targets are sensor drones, and they have gone to active sensing. As the TF1's sensor resolution increases, the energy signatures of H2, the intercepting force, resolves into five minor points on the hulls of each ship, and two major ones on port and starboard of each ship.

TF2 (3 med DD) close on H1.
TF1 begins zigzag pattern using high-energy turns and makes sensor lock on H2.

The sensor drones detect the incoming TF2 and begin evasive manuevers, and the CAs lock their own weapons on the TF1 dumping two torpedoes each, which then leap towards TF1.
[tot torps: 12...divided evenly between the ships of TF1]

The three Taurain medium destroyers of TF2, forming a rotating equilateral triangle, drive straight on toward the inbound sensor drones (H1) .
The heavy destroyers of TF1 spread out in to a rotating triangle formation ahead of the two medium frigates.

The torpedoes heading to TF1 are emitting neutrinos and radiation... The CAs maintain their Diamond wall formation, and continue heading towards TF1, closing to KEC range, roughly 5Km-effective & accurate.

At range of 100km, Anti-missile laser fire lashes out from the DDs, shredding the torpedos and the sensor drones.
The Frigates spit two large Ion Disruptor bolts at the two leading CAs of H2. These reach the enemy cruisers at a range of 160km. At range 120km, six Laser bolts fire from each frigate and strike the cruisers.

The Ion Disruptors tear open the forward shields for a moment, long enough for the lasers to scorch black marks on the prow plating. The CAs launch a full spread of missiles, not torpedoes, twenty-four, which at a range of 110Km open and spread out into 240 individual warheads locking on and burning full-out for the DDs. The CAs continue to close, entering a range of 100Km at the same time the warheads would strike the DDs.

Again the spinning trio of destroyers fire their laser batteries and lay waste to the inbound missile, leaving them looking like soda-pop cans blasted by shotguns - shredded.
Ion Disruptor bolts pulse from the frigates, targeting the two leading enemy crusiers. As the bolts of proton plasma touch the shields, a single streak of glowing gold launches from the bow of each frigate, like a tracer fired from a rifle. In through the holed shield the golden mass flies, impacting the bow of the crusiers with a force equivalant of the crusier having just slammed into the surface of a moon.

the bow of one CA suddenly looks like it ran into the aforementioned moon, then explodes open as the ammo rooms detonate. The second CA is luckier, a chunk of the prow shears off leaving the ammo rooms on the right side open to space. These two cruisers engines pulse off and on randomly, and continue to drift, fast, towards the enemy.
The other four cruisers are now in KEC range, and open fire, launching hyper-velocity H-EDD [head] rounds into the Taur FFs.
H-EDD = High-Energy Diamond Darts. The standard KEC round.

The KEC darts slam into the frigates' "Hard-Wall" force-shields and shatter like ice-sickles thrown at a concrete wall, leaving a dim red-orange glow at each impact point.
Ion disrupter bolts fired by the Taurain medium frigates flare against the shields of the next two Howlon crusiers, and then they are struck twice each by heavy laser fire (each about three-times stronger than before).

The laser fire deeply etches the prow armor of the CAs, and gouges lines down their sides, venting some atmosphere. The CAs return fire, focusing their fire on one FF, and launching Flash Torps into it.
Flash torps = torpedoes armed with focused EMP bombs.

Before the torpedos travel half the distance toward their target. the rotating destroyers' anti-missile lasers cut the torps to pieces, like carrots dropped into a food-processor.
Once again the Ion Disruptor bolts flare the leading two cruisers' forward shields and once again two brilliant golden streaks flash from the frigates' bow spinal mounts and smash into the prow of the oncoming Howlon cruisers with the same effect as before...both ships are smashed to a dead stop.

the last two CAs reach the relative safety of being in the middle of the enemy formation. they open fire with their KECs at almost point-blank-range. they also fire Dart missiles into the FFs.
Dart Missiles = missiles flying nearly as fast as KEC rounds, faster than Point-Def can track, at the cost of a reduced warhead.

KEC and DART strikes flare briefly across the frigates' "hard-wall" shields, causing it to glow a yellow-orange which slowly fades away as the incoming fire slows to a stop.
Targeting the now surrounded Howlon cruisers, the three heavy destroyers pour out an incredible torrent of laser fire at point-blank range which quickly overwhelms and collapses the cruisers' shields leaving them at the mercy of the medium frigate laser turrets. The multiple hits rake the length of the CAs, stabbing deep into the sides. Flame begins to spurt from dozens of holes as superheated atmosphere vents to space.
The TSDF ships decelerate sharply and begin to maneuver to sweep out and around the wreckage of the other CAs.

when the TSDF ships arc behind the damaged CAs, the Aft Tubes open fire with Dart Missile clusters, flooding the TSDFs screens with HVMs. the two CAs that have been raked with Laser fire Fall into Subspace after collecting the few Escape Pods launched by the wrecked CAs, which are operating on super-skeleton crews and programming.
Super-skeleton=Absolute minimum crew: two on the bridge, three in engineering. all other systems set to maximum automation.

DART strikes glow momentarily, like orange flowers, on the TSDF "hard-wall" forcefields.
The frigates pull off to one side in a covering position while the destroyers move in on the drifting hulks.

A single aft KEC turret opens fire, this time with IUS rounds, which slam into the Hard-wall shields, and then slam into the hull plating.
IU=Ionized Uranium Slug. A cylinder of uranium that has been ionized.

The Ionized Uranium Slugs slide through the "hard-wall" only slightly reduced in mass and speed. Their passage leaves an sparkling trail to the point they strike the hull-plating. As the Ionized Uranium Slugs touch the hull-plating there is a a brief flash of a polerized energy discharge and the Ionized Uranium Slugs burst. The energy is spread across the surface of the hull instead of penetrating, leaving behind large, shallow craters that glow a dull-red of heated metal.
A turret targets the KEC gun, giving it a rapid fire pounding of laser fire that quickly reduces it to a swiss-cheese like state.
The destroyers close to 500 meters and grapple the shattered cruisers with a capture field.

An Energy build-up is detected, and the aft of all four is blown off. two of the four further chain-react, and blow completely up in a Matter-Antimatter pyre. In the two that didn't self-destruct, life-signs are detected, but are weak.

The destroyers bring up their shields and begin to move away from the crippled cruisers but for one of the heavy destroyers it doesn't matter. When the enemy cruiser consumes itself in a A-M nuclear fireball the energy overloads the energy dampers and feeds back into the shield generators themselves causing them to meltdown. As the A-M fireball touches the hull of the now stricken destroyer, it boils away the hull-armor, the hull plating, the support structure, and the innerhull. In the blink of an eye, a third of the ship is gone, dissolved. The destroyer continues to move away from the now annihilated cruiser, adrift, glowing metal marking the edges of decks and bulkheads now missing as though sliced away.
After the catastrophy, the two remaining destroyers move to the cruiser with lifesigns and regapple it. Boarding teams are prepared.
Meanwhile, the frigates move to the damaged destroyer and begin rescue operations.

Those aboard the crippled CA offer little resistance, as all three are unconscious, and all in the bridge compartment.
