Nation: Howlon Ascendancy Space Fleet: Heah Bewitan [High Guard] Leader: High Admiral Frell Race: Howlon Gov. Type: Elective Monarchy Other: Species: Howlon (gene-gineered Wolf sub-species: Grey Wolf [timber wolf] ) Homeworld: Holona [Base species from: Terra (Earth)]
The Howlon homeworld, really the capital world as their true homeworld is Terra, is Holona [ha-LOE-na]. It is a temperate world, covered in dense forests and large lake, but no real oceans. Cities are built in the trees and on the lakes, leaving most of the world largely untouched by sentient hands. The shipyards, and other industry that doesn't require real gravity, are in orbit over Holona.
Description: 4.0ft to 5.0ft tall bipedal wolf. The Timber wolf is the most common, thought there are two other breeds: the Arctic wolves, and the rare Dire Wolf, a resurrected species. Fur coloring tends to be a shade of grey as well as one or two other colors in varying patterns. Of equal intelligence to their Human designers, Howlons resemble wolves except that they are bipedal and have slightly more maleable facial features. Clothes are as common to Howlons as to Humans, though in looser fit. Females are distinguished by a lighter build than males, and lighter and more complex fur coloring and patterns. A Howlon's average life-span is 60 yrs. They speak both Modern and Old English.
Background: Howlons where developed during the Second Solar War as fast replacement crews and troops for ship and ground-pounder duty. Scientists engineered them with hightened intelligence and a bipedal build, though they can still run on all fours. When the scientists attempted to eradicate the Howlon population after the end of the war, they stole several warships, as well as several supply ships, and fled to a world beyond the rim of Earth control at that time. Recently the Howlon Ascendancy allied with the Earth Alliance.Since their exodus from the Sol system they have developed there own written alphabet called Tairrin.

Nation: Taurain Star-empire Race: Taur Space Fleet Name: Imperial Taurain Star-empire Fleet Leader Name: Grand Admiral Raad Az'Ghilan Government Type: Benevolent Multi-cultural Democratic Parlementarian (Empire) .............................[aka. Taurain Overlord Government] Crest or Symbol Remarks: THE TAUR The Taurain is a new, fast-rising civilization which is comparatively young in terms of the universe, having only become a star-faring race within the last few millennia. From the Perseus Arm of the galaxy, this new race has emerged to challenge the might of the other established races in this millennium. They are the Taur, a surprisingly advanced race that has organized itself around a single guiding principle known as "The Greater Good." The Taur possessed an impressive grasp of technology and its armed forces were superbly equipped with the best weapons and armor their race could devise - grav tanks, energy weapons, armored battle suits and so forth. The Taur race itself was highly focused and well-organized, following a rigid caste system based around the four elements of earth, air, fire and water. The Earth caste were builders, farmers and engineers, the Air caste were messengers, pilots and starship crews, the Fire caste were warriors with all that snazzy wargear, while the Water caste fulfilled the role of merchants and diplomats. Although diverse (in effect different sub-species of the same race), the Taur worked together in harmony, gaining strength from their unity. As the ideas for the Taur developed a fifth caste, a ruling elite that brought the other castes together, the mysterious Ethereals who were venerated and obeyed without question by the other castes. The combined strength of the tightly-knit Taur meant that their empire could fend for itself among the other predatory and frankly xenophobic races inhabiting the galaxy. In contrast to other races, we wanted the Taur to be altruistic and idealistic, believing heartily in unification as the way forward. This meant that they would happily incorporate other races into their empire without subjugating them, instead enticing them in with the benefits of mutual protection, trade and technology. Taurain Star-empire The Taur believe that now is their time; their race, their empire will bring unity to all. There is no foe their technology cannot overcome, no quandary their science cannot resolve. The very stars themselves will be reforged in the cause of the Greater Good. By setting aside individualism to serve the needs of society as a whole, the Taur have developed and expanded at an astounding rate. In just over 6,000 years, they evolved from savannah-dwelling primitives to space-faring colonists. This unhindered progress has given the Taur confidence that there is no obstacle that their society and their science cannot overcome. Indeed, they believe that they can help the rest of the galaxy find their way to peace and prosperity. All the other races must do is accept the Greater Good and obey the Ethereals, the mysterious Taurain leaders. Not surprisingly, the established races have ther plans. To help "bring them around," the Taur have invented some of the most lethal ranged weaponry known. Their basic troops are armed with pulse rifles and pulse carbines that can punch through armor like a comet through a dust cloud. Pulse weapons would be devastating enough, but the Taur also have power armor and anti-gravitic vehicles galore. Their Cruiser and Stealth battlesuits have unrivalled mobility on the battlefield, popping out from behind cover, firing a thunderous barrage, and disappearing again before the enemy can react. The Taur's Hammerfall and Skybeam gunships, along with Broadsword battlesuits, pound opposing forces to bits while their Devilry troop carriers reposition Troopers for better shots. At a distance, the Taur can lay waste to all but the hardiest of enemies.
